I'm Moving To An Island

ask, theme

Apologies, I’ve had a bit of a dry spell with my posts, but a couple of changes are coming and I’ll be updating more often - keep posted!

For the time being, I thought this video deserved an audience :).

Confession:

I have an aversion to buying winter clothes or anything too warm because I know I’ll eventually be living on an island. Bring me some sarongs, kaftan’s and some sandals and I’m done.

:)

Thank you.

In the last 24 hours I have:

  • Sung out loud in my car
  • Improvised stories with my family to the soundtrack of a depressed violin
  • Laughed out loud with some of my favourite people
  • Watched a movie
  • Overslept
  • Been offered a job
  • Danced with my dog
  • Been pinch-punched
  • Gotten splashed with water for April-fools’
  • Been attacked by a soaking wet tissue
  • Attacked someone with a soaking wet tissue
  • Watered plants
  • Consumed about 5 litres of water
  • Sipped on Guava juice
  • Stood in the sunlight
  • Started reading The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire by Deepak Chopra
  • Spoken passionately
  • Been there for a loved one
  • Spoken to strangers
  • and caught up with friends

And that is why I’m Thankful.

More often than not, life is the sweetest at the most simplest of moments.

Sarah Kay speaks at TED2011

I’ve been a frequent visitor on ted.com for years now and have sat through many amazing speakers/lectures on everything from advances in technology, art and life.

If you’re ever feeling a little uninspired; go there. I do. Today a new video came up from one of this years’ TED conferences and I felt like I needed to share it.

If you’re a mother, daughter, brother, father, sister, man, woman or undefined. You need to watch this.

You’re welcome.
